X-Men: Children of the Atom is a great game with high "head-to-head" multiplayer value. This can make the game highly addictive in a wild kind of way. The first time you do an "X-Power" move, you'll get such a rush that you will keep trying to do it again, always attempting to improve on your last move. The variety of characters and the large number of strategies that may be employed give the game a high replay value. Because of the style of game play, it is easy for anyone who's interested to pick up and quickly learn the basics of this game. If you have friends or siblings that like arcade-style fighters or the X-Men comics (or both), have them come over and the two of you can duke it out to your hearts' content. X-Men: Children of the Atom is ideal for a quick bit of fun. If you have a few minutes to spare, slip the CD in your drive and start the game up for a quick play. The 2D graphics are reminiscent of the old 16-bit Street Fighter II on the Genesis, but this isn't a complaint since that style fits perfectly with this sort of game. My PC version features the same 12 characters, the same fighting anthem music, and the same 15-hit combo possibilities. The first thing I noticed about X-Men: Children of the Atom was how clean the conversion was from the arcade to the PC platform.
